Is this place still being made? I just randomly lurked google and randomly found this place. What's it about? I can see it's still under construction or something?

Well, we're waiting for a relocation. It's a roleplay and touhou forum, naturally. But at the moment, you're free to do whatever you want.
Although I have to say, moving to the paid server is taking WAY TOO LONG.
The URL kamiaku.co.cc will redirect to kamiaku.net automatically as soon as it's up, unfortunately, you'll have to make your account again.

Ah. I've never heard of "Touhou" myself. I'm okay with role-play. I guess I'll hang around for that then.

Touhou is basically a series of games made by one guy. It's a difficult and sadistic game (with only female characters for an odd reason.. but no one is really complaining) Very big fan base... bigger than Vocaloid.

Touhou isn't sadistic.

Arcade SHMUPS are sadistic. Made to milk your quarters. You haven't seen sadistic until you've played Dodonpachi (any of the games from the series).

Touhou is popular...in Japan, mostly. The combination of an all-magical girl cast (as said by Apple), bullets, and good music contribute heavily to it's success, and the fact most of the (original) games are made by a single alcoholic that doesn't really care about copyright sealed the starting deal.

The fanbase then took this starting deal, and went 'HOLY SHIT' with it, making it what it is today. Fangames and fanart and music remixes and fanforums and ec-freaking-t.

A convention is fun if you have a lot of money. You buy everything you like, and you get to hang out with your friends, along with interacting with people who are also fans of what you love. Sadly, most of the touhou fans were kinda...awkward to talk to in the last one I went to. But you have no idea how awesome I felt when people asked to take a picture of my shirt.
